Professional Experience

2004 - present

Web Developer, Intranet Development Lead

United Nations - ICTY

Intranet design and development lead charged with defining and executing the organization's intranet strategy. I also develop CMS-driven websites and application frontends for various business units and in-house web applications.

2002 - 2004

Web Designer & Database Administrator

United Nations - ICTY

Leveraged the significant administrative information to update the organization's aging intranet system. Provided unparalleled (at the time) access and transparency to staff presented in an undeniably (for its time) slick UI. Won awards, got copied -- a lot. Formalized the role of web designer and IA, established frameworks and processes for the development of web-based products and services.

2000 - 2002

Integrated Systems Developer

United Nations - ICTY

Established a project management and resourcing framework for the efficient and effective execution of IT projects. Developed a secure, low-overhead/high-availability desktop configuration for standard deployment throughout the organization's multiple networks and locations. This saw use until XP's end-of-support over a decade later.

1997 - 2000

Technical Support Engineer

United Nations - ICTY

First-line technical support provider, developed a highly-customized Windows NT desktop configuration for minimal support and streamlined deployment. Brought the organization's prosecution network to Y2K compliance in a closely coordinated, tightly managed project involving mass migration, training, and deployment.

Freelance Experience

1996 - present

Web Designer & Developer

Design and development of websites, blogs, wordpress themes for small businesses, non-profit organizations, independent brands and artists, and other (outspoken) content producers.

1993 - 1996

MIS/IT Consultant

Provided steering, guidance and technical support services to small businesses seeking to deploy workstations and productivity applications in small networked environments.

1988 - 1995

Graphic Designer, Layout Artist, Desktop Publishing Specialist

Production & Stage Management

Stage Manager, Production Manager, Assistant Director

Worked various jobs in professional theater from production assistant and stage manager through to production manager and assistant director. Even got to direct a couple of concerts before I switched industries at 21.
